Software Engineer, Systems Engineer
At Green Cube, we are looking for a Director of Engineering to join our team and lead our product and platform engineering teams. We are looking for someone who has led multiple teams of software engineers and is excited about building a great enterprise SaaS solution that delivers transformative technology to some of the largest brands in the world.
About the Team: Engineering at Green Cube plays a critical role in building and maintaining the best CDP on the market. On a day-to-day basis, we invest in a number of different areas - data platform capabilities, feature development, services and infrastructure development, security and operations.
As a member of the Engineering leadership team you’ll join a small group of experienced leaders who are responsible for the technical strategy and delivery of our software platform and product. You will collaborate with us as we evolve our organizational structure and help hire, coach and retain our talented engineers.
One year from now you will have (what has been accomplished):
- Partnered with our VP Engineering, CTO and other leaders, to develop and guide the implementation of our Engineering strategy and team design
- Helped us double the size of our Engineering organization
- Led key product and platform projects that enable company growth and the continued successful delivery of our software and services
- Led the investment and development of our Machine Learning and Data Science strategy
- Helped us build our reputation as an NYC startup, and a great place to work
Responsibilities:
- Lead our product and platform engineering teams
- Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, UX, Tech Ops, Security and other teams to build a strategy and roadmap that addresses the needs of our growing client base
- Lead agile development and deployment processes and drive measurable improvements across process, systems and software
- Coach and develop your managers and help them grow and develop the Engineers within their teams
Requirements
- Excellent manager of managers with the ability to mentor and grow senior engineers and engineering managers
- 10+ years of combined engineering experience; ideally starting as a software engineer, then transitioning to senior management roles
- Experience scaling engineering teams and products at a fast-growing startup; ideally in B2B SaaS
- Experience leveraging engineering expertise in cross-functional teams and externally, helping others see the tradeoffs in key decisions.
- Experience fostering an environment of innovation and promoting engineering best practices across teams
- Proven track record of attracting, engaging, and retaining talent
- Proven track record of building inclusive, positive work environments
