Electrical Design Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Substation Design Engineer with a strong background in high to low voltage electrical substation design. This position will focus on both greenfield and brownfield projects.

• Design and develop physical and electrical layouts for high-voltage substations
• Work within AutoCAD to create and revise substation design packages.
• Coordinate with structural, civil, and protection/control teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Perform site assessments for brownfield upgrades, including spatial and height constraint evaluations.
• Mentor and review work by less experienced engineers.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC, NEC, IEEE) and client-specific requirements.
• Support the project team throughout all project phases, from concept through construction support.

• Minimum of 5 years of substation design experience
  ; candidates with less will not be considered.
• Background in both greenfield and brownfield substation projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical and physical design work.
• Ability to manage a personal project load of five or fewer substation projects concurrently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in technical discussions and mentoring.

• 5–10 years of experience in utility or EPC substation projects.
• Experience working with utility clients and multi-discipline engineering teams.
