Protection & Control Designer

We are seeking a Protection & Control Designer with technical experience inthe design of HVsubstationsfor power utilitiesandfor the interconnection of renewables and data centers. In this roleyouwillsupport the delivery ofsubstationdetaileddesignprojectsfrom the conceptual phase through design completionfor electric utilities,contractors and developers. You will be the technical interface with client sand internal team members.

This position can be worked out of our New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, Boston or Chicago offices.

• Perform the engineering design, technical strategy, and delivery of HVand EHVsubstationprojectsfor power utilities and for the interconnection of renewables and data centers.
• PreparesubstationP&Cdesign packagesincludingsingle‑line diagrams,protection and control schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications,control houselayout,cable schedules,relay panel front and rear layout,cable traylayoutandbills of materials to quality,timeand budget requirements.
• Support in substation studies and calculationsincludingAC auxiliary system sizing, battery sizingandvoltage drop.
• Provide construction support and inter-disciplinary coordination.

• Associate degreein technology or related discipline and4years related experience.
• Proven4+years experience in
  15kV through 345kVP&Cutilitysubstationdesignand IEEE/ANSI standards.
• Advanced understanding of design software such as:
  AutoCAD and Micro Station
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as needed, to achieve agreed goals and results.
• Excellent communication skills — able to interact with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Ability torepresentthe company credibly.
• Ability to learn and effectivelyutilizenew design software programs.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools – MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook
• The ability to prioritize work effectively, manage deadlines and organization skillsrequiredfor our rapidly changing environment.
