The Manufacturing Engineer leads manufacturing engineering support for one or more production value streams within the IDEX Center of Excellence (optical components, machined components, and/or optical coatings). Supports daily operations while simultaneously identifying opportunities for improvement and  additional to the technical requirements, the successful candidate for this role will be highly skilled in cross-departmental communication and documenting engineering
** DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
* Provides technical support and guidance to the production team, coordinating with other engineering team members as required.
* Designs and develops fixtures, tools, prototypes, and other production support items using Solid Works.
* Maintains and improves technical documentation, including design records, routings, bill of material, and work instructions.
* Trains operators and technicians.
* For new products, leads and/or participates in the design and development process, including configuration management and production approval processes.
* Teams with Quality Assurance to initiate and lead root cause investigations with containment plans and corrective and preventative actions.
* Identifies, recommends and drives process and capability improvements.
* Develops and maintains safe work practices
