IMEG is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer in New York, NY (Manhattan office). This role leads design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for moderate to complex projects and supports delivery of larger, high-complexity projects with limited support from senior staff.  You will provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients while supporting project management, engineering analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry.

The role also includes working within project budgets, mentoring, and collaborating across functions to meet project goals and client expectations, while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP
2050 and AIA
2030.

** What You'll Do*

* · Lead design efforts for the analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
· Create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
· Perform site assessments and generate detailed analysis and technical reports.
· Interact with clients to understand needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information.
· Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
· Provide in-process design reviews and implement quality control processes for mechanical system designs, calculations, specifications, and project correspondence.
· Provide technical training and mentoring and technical assistance in resolving field issues with limited support from senior staff.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
· Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with mechanical systems.
· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions and participate in project interviews and presentations.

* · Coordinate, oversee, and manage projects ranging in size and complexity.
· Assist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work, fee calculations for proposal generation, and contract reviews.
· Create project schedules with targets for milestones and deadlines.
· Serve as the point of contact for teams and clients.
· Create monthly billings, submit financial information to Accounting, and update billing projections and estimated completion percentages.
· Ensure designs follow owner, IMEG, and code requirements, and that milestone deliverables, quality control processes, and construction technical support are completed in a timely manner.
· Collaborate with design staff and coordinate project scheduling throughout design and construction.
· Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.
· Conduct construction site visits and provide documentation as needed or requested.
· Respond to and resolve client and construction concerns, manage change orders and approvals, and train, mentor, motivate, and develop client relationships.
