Location: New York
Professional Engineer 1 (Civil/Transportation) position with the New York State Department of Transportation, Region 6 in Hornell. The role involves either supervising construction activities on transportation projects, ensuring compliance with contract and safety requirements, or performing design work including developing sealed engineering designs, supervising technical staff, and providing technical support across various specializations such as structures, highways, hydraulics, or bridge inspection.
Considerable travel and field work required; position may involve overnight assignments and weekend work.
- New York State Professional Engineer's license with current registration
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related engineering discipline, OR one year of full-time engineering experience on transportation projects
- Valid New York State driver's license or demonstrated ability to meet travel requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with NYSDOT Design Policies, Standards, and Guidelines
