This role is ideal for a candidate with a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering who is interested in systems design, analysis, and modeling, and who wants to contribute to complex, high-impact engineering programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support requirements management activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring system requirements are clearly defined, traceable, and aligned with project objectives.
  • Perform data analysis to evaluate system performance, identify trends, and provide insights that guide design decisions and improvements.
  • Contribute to modeling and simulation efforts to predict system behavior, validate concepts, and support design trade studies.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and refinement of algorithms that enhance system functionality and performance.
  • Participate in systems engineering activities, including architecture definition, interface analysis, and integration planning.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, including requirements, system integration, system test, and special systems groups, to support end-to-end system development.
  • Document engineering work products, including analysis results, models, and requirements, in appropriate tools and repositories.
  • Apply signal processing, mathematics, and modeling analysis techniques to support system design and performance evaluation.
  • Use tools such as MATLAB and requirements management platforms (e.g., DOORS) to perform analysis, modeling, and requirements tracking.
  • Support simulation-based evaluations and test planning activities to help verify and validate system performance against requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with MATLAB, gained through academic coursework, internships, or project-based work.
  • Knowledge of modeling and simulation principles and their application to complex systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply mathematics and signal processing concepts to engineering challenges.
  • Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals, including systems design, analysis, and modeling.
  • Familiarity with requirements management practices and tools such as DOORS.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, including meeting all eligibility and requirements.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Internship, co-op, or research experience in an engineering or related technical environment.
  • Exposure to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.
  • Familiarity with SysML and its use in systems modeling and documentation.
  • Experience or coursework related to systems engineering concepts, including system integration, system test, and special systems.
  • Comfort working with simulation tools and performing modeling analysis to support design and verification.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, organized technical documentation.
