Position

Parking Ambassador – White Plains Hospital

Compensation

Hourly Pay: $17 per hour

Vaccination Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
  • Greets and directs patients, visitors, vendors and staff in a warm, upbeat, friendly, professional manner.
  • Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Evaluates ongoing situations and keeps Security, the Department Director and the Manager informed of issues.
  • Coordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the building.
  • Oversees volunteer scheduling and maintains positive work interactions with all staff and volunteers.
  • Accesses accurate patient and procedural information utilizing various technology modes.
  • Answers phone calls.
  • Follows appropriate lobby procedures/processes – e.g., visitation policy, medical records requests, redirection to ED.
  • Assists in performing temperature checks for those entering the building.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
  • Education & Experience Requirements
    • High School diploma required, college preferred; must be able to read and write English.
    • Proficient computer skills – including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and strong aptitude for learning new software systems (e.g., Readiness Rounds, Epic).
    • Previous customer service experience interacting with diverse public required.
    • Bilingual – Spanish highly preferred.
    • Mandatory in‑service training as needed.

    Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment
    • May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks; hazardous chemicals listed in the hospital’s SDS database.

    • Able to detect and greet all who arrive as they enter lobby.
    • Able to exchange accurate information.
    • Able to move throughout the building.
    • Able to remain in a stationary position majority of the time.
    • Able to operate computer and other office machinery.
    • Able to operate wheelchair and transport patient if needed.
    • Must practice patience, tact and caring nature at all times.
