Parking Ambassador – White Plains Hospital

Compensation

Hourly Pay: $17 per hour

Vaccination Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.

Greets and directs patients, visitors, vendors and staff in a warm, upbeat, friendly, professional manner.

Assists and coordinates patient/visitor needs with others on the interdisciplinary care team.

Evaluates ongoing situations and keeps Security, the Department Director and the Manager informed of issues.

Coordinates volunteer help to support overall patient reception and flow throughout the building.

Oversees volunteer scheduling and maintains positive work interactions with all staff and volunteers.

Accesses accurate patient and procedural information utilizing various technology modes.

Answers phone calls.

Follows appropriate lobby procedures/processes – e.g., visitation policy, medical records requests, redirection to ED.

Assists in performing temperature checks for those entering the building.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements

High School diploma required, college preferred; must be able to read and write English.
Proficient computer skills – including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and strong aptitude for learning new software systems (e.g., Readiness Rounds, Epic).
Previous customer service experience interacting with diverse public required.
Bilingual – Spanish highly preferred.
Mandatory in‑service training as needed.

Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment

May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks; hazardous chemicals listed in the hospital’s SDS database.
High energy level.
Able to detect and greet all who arrive as they enter lobby.
Able to exchange accurate information.
Able to move throughout the building.
Able to remain in a stationary position majority of the time.
Able to operate computer and other office machinery.
Able to operate wheelchair and transport patient if needed.
Must practice patience, tact and caring nature at all times.
