Jersey City, NJ – Hybrid

The US Sports Trader is part of the trading team, trading US major league and college sports including American football, baseball, basketball and ice hockey. The position supports risk management, market liabilities and product support.

• Day‑to‑day trading with market moves on games, player props and futures betting, compiling and trading prices on a variety of markets.
• New market creation across all sports and settlement; identify markets that require manual settlement and continuously improve customer experience.
• Monitor market liabilities and risk across all markets, maintain the stop‑loss system and keep markets fully active.
• Manage customer risk profiles by identifying betting patterns and approving or flagging suspicious activity.
• Support product initiatives and deliver a wide range of markets to suit all customers.
• Bet acceptance – quickly decide on bets through the approvals functionality.
• Collaborate with compliance to obtain new sport, league and market approvals in all US states.
• Work with the content team to flag display issues and ensure optimal site delivery.
• Provide operational support to trade operations including betting sheets and configuration of new leagues and markets.
• Assist traders in day‑to‑day operations with market moves, provide training, and resolve issues impacting the trading team.

• Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time.

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience trading US sports.
• Passion for US sports and expertise in sports statistics.
• Strong numerical and mathematical skills.
• Team player, focused and detail oriented.
• Ability to work shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Excellent knowledge of the rules of all sports and the betting industry.
• Sports betting experience is essential; familiarity with college and major league players.

The annual salary range for this position is $62,000 to $75,000, adjusted for geography, skills, experience and other factors. The position is also eligible for a performance‑based bonus plan.

As an online gaming company, BetMGM must comply with state gaming regulations and licensing obligations. Eligible employees must hold the required licenses; failure to obtain or maintain licensure may result in termination. Background checks include review of criminal records, financial history and personal background verification. All candidates must also support the company’s responsible gambling policies.
