Executive Director of Development (Immersive Theatre)

UNSHUT is seeking a fearless, strategic Director of Development to lead the charge in securing strategic entertainment partners this summer for a groundbreaking immersive activation launching next year.

This is not your average theatrical production—it’s an intimate live experience that blurs the line between story, identity, and destiny.

You will be the tip of our fundraising spear, owning outreach and partnership strategy to align us with the right entertainment studios, brands, and HNW individuals who want to pioneer the next evolution of experiential storytelling in New York City and beyond.

• Identify, pitch, and secure strategic funding partners within entertainment, media, or theatre.
• Craft tailored partnership proposals that speak directly to partner priorities—whether that’s cultural credibility, immersive R&D, innovation storytelling, or direct brand integration/product placement.
• Lead all stages of the development pipeline—from prospecting and first contact to negotiation and relationship stewardship.
• Collaborate with our creative team to develop persuasive collateral, pitch decks, and activation overviews.
• Represent UNSHUT in meetings, industry events, and high-level conversations.
• Track outreach progress, refine strategies in real time, and drive results.

• A proven track record in partnership development, fundraising, or theatrical/entertainment deal making—particularly within experiential, live events, or theatrical productions.
• Pre-existing relationships with HNW patrons, theatre producers, and/or experiential-focused brands.
• Impeccable instincts for who to talk to, how to get in the room, and how to close with clarity and integrity.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling skills. You can distill complex, visionary experiences into language that moves decision-makers.
• A true passion for the emerging world of immersive entertainment—and a deep understanding of the business incentives behind creative risks.
• Experience working autonomously within fast-paced, high-expectation environments.
