Status: Part-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Position SummaryShift Leads are the senior hourly team members on the floor, responsible for guiding ushers and concessions staff through each shift and upholding the theater's service and presentation standards. This is a working lead role:
Shift Leads perform all front-of-house duties alongside the team while providing direction, solving problems, and keeping shows running on time.
- Lead the front-of-house team during assigned shifts, directing breaks, task rotation, and between-show auditorium turnovers
- Perform all usher and concessions duties alongside the team, including POS transactions, food and beverage preparation, and cleaning
- Ensure auditoriums are cleaned between every show and the concession stand receives its daily cleaning to standard
- Handle escalated guest questions and concerns on the floor, involving the manager on duty as appropriate
- Assist with cash drawer setup, counts, and end-of-shift reconciliation as assigned
- Perform basic projection operation as trained, supporting show starts and monitoring presentation quality
- Open or close the theater as assigned, following all checklists and security procedures
- Communicate staffing, facility, and equipment issues promptly to management
- Prior lead, keyholder, or supervisory experience in theaters, restaurants, retail, or hospitality is strongly preferred
- A guest-first attitude with the ability to direct peers respectfully and by example
- Ability to handle cash accurately and operate POS systems confidently
- Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required
- Must be 18 years of age or older; ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation
This is a part-time position with shifts concentrated on evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the theater's programming schedule. Hours will vary week to week, with the heaviest scheduling during peak movie going periods.
