Asphalt Green is looking for energetic, expressive, and dependable performers to serve as Haunted Maze Actors for our annual Halloween programming at the Upper East Side campus.

Haunted Maze Actors bring the maze experience to life by portraying assigned characters, interacting with guests, following established performance direction, and helping create an immersive, fun, and memorable experience.

Actors will participate in a required dress rehearsal before performing during Asphalt Screams and Halloween programming.

This is a short-term seasonal opportunity for individuals who enjoy performing, interacting with people, working as part of a creative team, and bringing energy to live events.

The Haunted Maze is designed to be more than a decorated space. The performers are what turn the environment into an experience.

Haunted Maze Actors help create the energy, suspense, humor, and excitement that guests remember.

By staying in character, working together, and following the direction established by the Haunted Maze Leads and Events team, actors help ensure the maze feels coordinated, engaging, and immersive from beginning to end.

• Perform an assigned character or role within the Haunted Maze.
• Stay in character throughout assigned performance periods.
• Use movement, expression, voice, timing, and body language to create an engaging guest experience.
• Follow the established theme, storyline, and creative direction of the maze.
• Adjust performance based on direction provided during rehearsal and event execution.

• Interact with guests in ways that support the overall Haunted Maze experience.
• Help create a fun, immersive, and appropriately spooky environment.
• Remain aware of guest reactions and adjust interactions when appropriate.
• Maintain professionalism while performing for guests of different ages and comfort levels.
• Help ensure interactions remain appropriate and consistent with Asphalt Green expectations.

• Attend the required dress rehearsal.
• Learn assigned character expectations, positioning, timing, and movement.
• Participate in walkthroughs and practice runs of the maze.
• Become familiar with the maze layout and assigned performance area.
• Be prepared and ready to perform at the scheduled event start time.

• Follow direction from the Events Coordinator, Haunted Maze Leads, and other designated event staff.
• Work collaboratively with other actors and staff.
• Maintain awareness of timing, spacing, and other performers during the event.
• Communicate concerns or support needs to the appropriate event staff.
• Help maintain a positive and cooperative environment throughout rehearsals and performances.

• Follow all event, facility, and safety procedures.
• Remain aware of guests, props, temporary walls, equipment, and other performers while moving through the maze.
• Avoid physical contact with guests unless specifically directed and approved as part of the experience.
• Immediately report safety concerns, injuries, or guest issues to event leadership.
• Arrive on time and remain available for the full assigned shift.

Success in this role means guests experience an engaging and memorable Haunted Maze while the performance remains organized, safe, and consistent with the event concept.
