Over the past 16 years, HHTax has successfully leveraged our vast network of tax professionals and our targeted industry knowledge to successfully advise careers and place professionals at every level from Tax Associates to Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Partners, in both private industry and public accounting.

We service our clients primarily in the New York Metro area, as well as nationally through our AAFA network (45 financial staffing affiliates throughout the U.S. and Canada).

Our client, a leading New York–based accounting and advisory firm providing tax, audit, and business consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, family offices, privately held businesses, and investment entities. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional client service through a combination of technical expertise, personalized attention, and forward-looking advice.

The Opportunity

Seeking an accomplished Tax Principal or Tax Partner to join their growing leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in advising clients, expanding the firm’s tax practice, and mentoring the next generation of professionals. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader, with a strong track record of business development, client relationship management, and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held businesses on complex tax matters.
• Oversee and review tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements.
• Expand the firm’s client base by bringing a portable book of business and continuing to originate new client relationships.
• Collaborate with partners across service lines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
• Stay abreast of tax law developments and proactively advise clients on implications and opportunities.
• Contribute to firm leadership initiatives and help shape the long-term strategy of the tax practice.

Qualifications

• CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation required.
• 12+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a comparable advisory environment.
• Established record of generating revenue with high-net-worth and/or closely held business clients.
• Demonstrated success in client development and relationship management.
• Strong technical expertise in individual, partnership, and corporate taxation.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
