As a member of Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing’s Global Research and Strategy team, the individual will play an integral role in providing research support for investment transactions and strategies across MSREI’s suite of real estate products globally. Research is an essential part of MSREI’s investment process and organization. MSREI executives worldwide share information and exchange ideas, fostering an environment of flexibility and innovation.

Our ongoing research commitment leads to new products, innovations, and opportunities designed to meet clients’ investment goals. The role combines investment strategy and research, with a focus on integrating global research into the investment process practically and effectively.

• Conduct analysis for quarterly global macroeconomic, property sector, and capital markets updates and Investment Committee presentations.
• Update regular research reports, including quarterly Fund investor communications and internal research products.
• Collaborate with global investment teams to incorporate market research into investment decisions and strategies.
• Leverage third-party data sources and internal models to validate underwriting assumptions.
• Develop and utilize market screening/attractiveness tools with acquisition teams.
• Analyze sector trends and assess implications for market and sector strategies.
• Support the research team in producing articles, white papers, and thought leadership pieces.
• Address specific client inquiries related to global markets and research topics through analysis.
• Participate in ad hoc analyses as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of real estate experience.
• Strong analytical and financial skills.
• Technical expertise in analyzing drivers of real estate performance, including statistical analysis, attribution analysis, risk analysis, and portfolio modeling.
• Creative thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to apply insights to client decision-making.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet tight deadlines.
• High commitment, results-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive attitude.
• Effective prioritization and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
