Responsibilities

The Senior Compliance Officer will support Related Companies’ legal and treasury teams in managing compliance obligations and due diligence requests, including Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) verifications. The ideal candidate will have experience with complex organizational structures, strong analytical skills, and a solutions‑oriented mindset. This position is based in New York, NY.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Prepare and coordinate responses to KYC/AML and other due diligence disclosure requests from partners, banks, and financial institutions, including sensitive legal and financial information.
  • Coordinate KYC and AML requirements for all counter parties, ensuring onboarding and maintenance requests are completed on time.
  • Manage submission of required company information to governmental agencies, including online filings.
  • Review complex organizational charts and ownership information to identify ultimate beneficial owners (UBOs) and calculate beneficial ownership.
  • Prepare and revise transaction and corporate organizational charts.
  • Maintain compliance records, including schedules of information, prior responses, and verification documents.
  • Complete required certifications of verification documents.
  • Track compliance action items to ensure consistency and completion.
  • Assist in updating internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and standardize processes, benchmarking to industry practices and adopting new tools as appropriate.
  • Support ad‑hoc and strategic compliance initiatives related to onboarding, applications, and systems.
  • Understand the risk and control framework and escalate issues effectively while maintaining a commercial, solutions‑oriented approach.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 7–10 years of KYC and compliance experience.
  • Experience with complex organizational/entity structures and disclosure requests.
  • Superior interpersonal skills:
    • Ease working across organizational levels.
    • Adaptive to different audiences.
    • Diplomatically assertive.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong sense of integrity and ethics.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Real estate experience is preferred but not required.
Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.

Anticipated base salary range: $150,000 - $170,000+.

Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
