Location: New York
Job Overview – Fund Accountant (Temporary):
Join our client as a Fund Accountant in New York, NY. This temporary role is ideal for a finance professional with expertise in fund accounting, NAV calculations, and financial reporting. You will support month-end and year-end close, reconcile financial statements, and assist with P&L allocations, ensuring accuracy and compliance within the firm’s investment portfolios.
Compensation: $50 – $75/hour

Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Responsibilities as the Fund Accountant (Temporary):
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist in financial statement preparation, ensuring GAAP and regulatory compliance.
- NAV & P&L Calculations: Calculate Net Asset Value (NAV), profit and loss allocations, and fund performance metrics.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger for accurate financial reporting.
- Investor Reporting: Prepare capital account statements, reconciliations, and fund activity reports.
- Capital Transactions: Support capital calls, distributions, and investor allocations with accurate documentation.
- Audit & Compliance: Assist auditors in financial reviews and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required (CPA or CFA certification is a plus).
- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of fund accounting experience in private equity, hedge funds, or asset management.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of GAAP, NAV calculations, and financial reporting standards, with Advent Systems experience preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with investment structures, fund operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Technology & Software: Proficiency in Excel, fund accounting software, and financial reporting tools.
