Summary
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU
Responsible for hands-on management of financial analysis, accounting, budgeting and business planning for the NHL’s Digital, Marketing/Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) groups.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Manage one (1) direct report in the facilitation of day-to-day operations which includes, but is not limited to, the oversight and completion of the following functions:
- Preparing annual budgets and forecasts including the development of any relevant analysis. This role will need to gain an understanding of the various groups’ initiatives and projects to effectively manage and analyze their requests
- Documenting and tracking of the financial terms and obligations of relevant digital and marketing related contracts
- Overseeing the monthly and annual financial close process, including the approval of any related journal entries and any subsequent analysis for the preparation of P&L reports and variance explanations
- Preparation of management reports for department head, board meetings etc
- Tracking of all the NHL’s marketing & CSR expenditures including proper categorization
- Approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, such as contracts related to revenue or services and other actions requiring a commitment of financial resources
- Develop and maintain relationship with internal business teams
- Establish and monitor department specific executive dashboards
- Perform ad-hoc assignments, as requested
Qualifications
Knowledge Areas/Experience
Required
- 8+ years of FP&A work experience
- Ability to take initiative on problem solving and effectively manage multiple assignments, priorities, and deadlines in a timely, efficient and effective manner, with attention to detail and commitment to a quality work product
- Strong analytical skills; ability to compare actual financial performance against operating plans and standards and then interpret and report the results to various levels of management
- Highly motivated, organized, results oriented, and forward-thinking individual - an “out of the box” thinker that challenges the status quo
- Experience in supervisory role, with ability to inspire, train, and develop staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication (both written and oral) skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, especially MS Excel (sumif formulas, vlookup, etc.)
Preferred
- Experience with SAP4 Hana/SAC a plus
Education/Certifications
- Accounting or Finance degree from a four-year college or university

Salary Range
$145,000 - $175,000
