About the Role
Rodman & Renshaw LLC (Rodman) is a full-service Investment Bank based in New York City. With over 70 years of heritage serving the middle market, Rodman supports strategic capital raising, investment banking, equity research and corporate access, all powered by Stock Block, our electronic Equity Capital Markets (eECM) platform.
Our Sales and Trading team is seeking an Equity Sales Trader who will be integral to the execution and client relationship processes. The candidate will work closely with senior leadership and be responsible for revenue generation, executing trades, and providing market information to clients. The role is based in Midtown Manhattan and on-site five days per week.
Responsibilities- High-Touch Execution: Execute cash-equity orders across sectors and market caps for issuer and institutional clients, ensuring best execution and adherence to firm/regulatory standards.
- Client Revenue Growth: Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to increase client participation through differentiated execution, market color, and consistent post-trade outcomes.
- Cross-Team
Collaboration:
Collaborate with sales, capital markets, research, and trading teams to align trading activities with firmwide coverage and policies. Manage trading impact and improve liquidity for stocks actively traded by the firm by coordinating with external brokers and internal traders. - Market Commentary & Ideas: Produce concise, actionable commentary and trade ideas for distribution to buy-side specialists and generalists.
- Participant Intelligence & CRM: Build counter party/venue profiles, generate reports and analyses on liquidity behavior, and actively maintain CRM (contacts, interactions, tags, pipeline).
- Events & Coverage: Attend and participate in conferences and seminars; help organize client events and teach-ins; present materials effectively.
- Controls & Operations: Monitor trading and coordinate with Compliance/Operations on appropriate protocols, regulations, reporting procedures, etc.
- 10–15+ years in institutional equity trading and/or sales trading with a strong track record of revenue generation.
- Strong At-the-Market (ATM) offering execution experience with ability to manage a large and growing book of issuer clients.
- Deep buy-side relationships with key decision-makers; proven ability to win and retain flow across order sizes.
- Expert understanding of equity market microstructure, venue mechanics (exchanges/ATS/dark/conditional), routing/queuing, and auction dynamics.
- Experience executing large orders in less-liquid names where the firm may be a large percentage of daily volume.
- Comfort handling complex orders and coordinating crosses/blocks while maintaining information-barrier protocols.
- Ability to produce clear, concise market commentary for broad distribution.
- FINRA Series 7, 63/66, 57, & 9/10 preferred (or obtained within 150 days of employment).
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
- Excellent communication skills; entrepreneurial mindset; competitive, team-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for in-person meetings, conferences, and client events.

CompensationCompensation range:
Annual base salary: $150,000+. Total compensation may include a performance-based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
