Senior Accountant / Senior Finance Associate

Location: NYC hybrid (Monday-Thursday onsite)
Thriving financial services firm is looking for a Senior Accountant / Senior Finance Associate to be a core member of their growing finance team. In this role, you will be pivotal in overseeing accounting operations across multiple business lines, ensuring data accuracy, and directly contributing to strategic financial decisions. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at both independent execution and collaborative teamwork.
Responsibilities- Fund Accounting & Valuation:
- Review and analyze quarterly reporting packages prepared by fund administrators.
- Prepare detailed valuation materials and present findings to the internal Valuation Committee.
- Support the annual audit and tax compliance processes, including the preparation and review of K-1 filings.
- Manage the timely processing of fund-related wire transfers for invoices and management fees.
- Management Company Accounting:
- Collaborate with outsourced bookkeepers utilizing Ramp and Quick Books to produce quarterly management reporting packages.
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and employee reimbursements.
- Conduct continuous cash and liquidity monitoring.
- Execute quarterly reconciliations of all cash and intercompany balances.
- Assist with year-end 1099 reporting requirements.
- Investment Operations & Projects:
- Support the finance and investment teams during deal due diligence and closings.
- Facilitate ad hoc investor data requests with accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to the implementation of new finance systems and data transformation initiatives.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects designed to enhance overall operational efficiency.
- CPA required with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- 1–3 years of full-time professional experience, preferably within the private fund, asset management, or broader financial services industry.
- Strongly desired experience in fund tax compliance and/or management company accounting.
- Proficiency with key accounting software and tools, including Quick Books, Ramp, and advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and operate as a self-starter.
