** Oliver James is delighted to be partnering with a highly sophisticated, asset manager-backed insurance platform to appoint a Senior Finance Leader in the insurance industry.
** Our client is a publicly listed investment vehicle backed by an established global alternative asset manager, with deep roots across private credit, structured finance, and insurance solutions. The platform is in an active build-out phase, deploying capital across reinsurance, in-force blocks, and strategic insurance acquisitions.###
** The Opportunity
** This is a rare opportunity for a senior life insurance finance professional to step into a broad, value-creating leadership role with genuine influence over balance sheet strategy, capital deployment, and platform expansion. Initially anchored in technical accounting and reporting excellence, the role will naturally evolve into a CFO-level remit as the insurance platform scales.###
** Key Focus Areas
*** Ownership of statutory and GAAP financial reporting for life insurance and reinsurance entities
* Oversight of regulatory filings, Blue Book submissions, and regulator engagement
* Leadership across accounting operations, close processes, and external reporting
* Balance sheet stewardship spanning capital, liquidity, investments, and reinsurance structures
* Financial planning, forecasting, and analytics to support growth and transaction activity
* Active participation in M&A, block acquisitions, and post-deal integration
* Collaboration with investment, actuarial, tax, and executive stakeholders###
** Ideal Background
*** Extensive experience within life insurance or annuity finance leadership
* Deep technical grounding in US STAT and GAAP insurance accounting
* Strong exposure to annuity products (MYGA, FIA preferred) and reinsurance structures
* Proven ability to operate in fast-moving, transaction-driven environments
* Senior-level communication skills with boards, executives, and external partners
* CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferred
