Job Title: Senior Accountant – Public REIT / SEC Reporting
Location: Lake Success, NY (On-Site)

About the RoleThe Senior Accountant will support core accounting activities including SEC filings
, monthly close processes, financial statement preparation, and GAAP compliance. You ll partner with accounting leadership and work closely with external auditors, contributing directly to the company s public reporting obligations and internal financial performance.
- Prepare and assist in reviewing 10-K and 10-Q filings and other public company reports
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
- Prepare and reconcile general ledger accounts and journal entries
- Assist with consolidated financial statement preparation and analysis
- Partner with external auditors and tax advisors to support audits and compliance
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accounting policies align with GAAP and SEC standards
- Provide support in areas like budgeting, variance analysis, and special projects
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operations teams
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)
- CPA or progress toward CPA (preferred)
- 3–5 years of experience in accounting; public accounting or public company experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q) and public REIT structures
- Knowledge of GAAP and internal control best practices
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Experience in real estate, REITs, or financial services is a plus
- High Visibility: Work directly with executive leadership and impact public financial reporting
