Controller
The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting, reporting, and financial control activities for our U.S. and Canadian subsidiaries. This role reports to the US Head of Finance and works closely with local leadership to ensure compliance with local regulations while delivering accurate and timely financial information to global headquarters.
Responsibilities- Financial reporting and consolidation
- Oversee the entire accounting cycle (general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll).
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Prepare and publish financial statements and management reports in compliance with US GAAP.
- Ensure consolidation of financial results from local entities into the global reporting system.
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Lead preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts for the assigned entity/region.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis.
- Provide financial insights and data‑driven recommendations to support strategic decision‑making.
- Compliance and internal controls
- Maintain internal control framework and safeguard company assets.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations and other statutory requirements.
- Serve as liaison for all external audit activities.
- Technical accounting and systems
- Resolve complex technical accounting issues related to software industry (ASC 606, etc.).
- Document company's position in technical accounting memos.
- Oversee implementation and optimization of financial systems (AI related).
- Cross‑border operations
- Manage multi‑currency operations, intercompany transactions, and international tax strategies.
- Collaborate with global corporate finance team.
- Leadership and management
- Supervise, mentor, and develop high‑performing accounting team.
- Act as key business partner to department heads.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience (month‑end close, financial reporting, audits, internal controls).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required;
Master’s degree (MBA or MAcc) preferred. - Big 4 public accounting experience required; CPA certification highly preferred.
- Experience in global SaaS or high‑growth technology environment with subscription revenue models and ASC 606.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred; SAP or Oracle also acceptable) and Excel/Google Sheets.
- Strong technical accounting skills, including research and documentation of complex accounting issues.
- Leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Comfortable operating in a multinational setting (multi‑currency, cross‑border).
NY‑based candidates or candidates who can commute to our office in New York City. Our employees work in a flexible hybrid model and are expected to be in the office 3 times per week.
CompensationExpected base salary range $150,000 – $180,000. Additional compensation includes company RSUs as part of the package. For U.S. employees, the role is eligible for a benefit package including medical, dental, vision insurance, retirement savings plan, wellness benefits, travel expenses, and subsidized lunch.
