Position Overview:
They are seeking a Junior Tax Underwriter to join their growing tax underwriting team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated tax professional to transition out of a traditional advisory or accounting role and gain hands-on experience within the transactional risk insurance space.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of experience in public accounting or consulting, with a strong focus on M&A tax transactions. This role offers direct exposure to high-profile deals, interaction with clients and counsel, and a dynamic learning environment with long-term growth potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the underwriting of tax liability insurance policies related to M&A transactions.
- Review and analyze tax due diligence reports, legal documents, and transaction structures.
- Support the senior underwriting team in evaluating tax risks and crafting customized coverage solutions.
- Collaborate with brokers, tax advisors, and legal counsel throughout the underwriting process.
- Track industry developments and assist in maintaining underwriting best practices.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools, templates, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of tax experience at a public accounting firm, law firm, or consulting firm, with a strong emphasis on M&A tax.
- JD preferred, but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident in presenting and interacting with clients.
- Curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn the insurance underwriting process.
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and a strong sense of accountability.
- Interest in transitioning from an advisory role into a fast-growing segment of the insurance industry.
