Responsibilities- Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with Valley’s mission statement and engage customers with friendly, professional service.
- Demonstrate and educate customers on all bank products and services, cross‑sell various products and services.
- Present a confident, professional demeanor to establish trust, gain knowledge from customers, and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Analyze customers’ financial needs, maximize sales opportunities, open new accounts, discuss and sell loan products, and promote online and mobile banking.
- Meet customer expectations, achieve service quality standards, oversee the sales referral process, coach and mentor branch staff members.
- Perform all required customer transactions, utilize Teller scanning equipment, cash recycling, cash dispensing machines, and coin machines, and maintain and balance a cash box.
- Act as Vault Teller, ensure branch cash adequacy, assist in ordering and shipping currency, control cash distribution limits, and distribute cash to Tellers.
- Assist in community events (e.g., Habitat for Humanity) and support CRA initiatives, activities and programs.
- Report significant matters, issues and unusual customer activity to Manager, maintaining personal knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain knowledge and compliance with the bank’s Code of Conduct and all policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; write correspondence and demonstrate products and services to customers.
- Strong interpersonal customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with customers and employees.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills to uncover and resolve complex customer issues.
- Make sound on‑the‑spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing satisfaction issues with bank exposure to loss or fraud, and think through and rationalize decisions.
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.
- Deep understanding of retail banking and strong customer service skills to engage customers in conversation about products and services.
- Detail oriented, strong organizational skills, and high degree of accuracy.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient computer skills.
- High School diploma or GED and minimum 1 year of business services experience in branch banking and knowledge of branch operations or successful completion of a Valley Retail training program.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in accounting, business, finance, economics or a related field is preferred.
- FIS/IBS (Integrated Banking Solutions).
