Summary
The Audit Associate performs assessments of the audited activities within businesses and supporting operations related to capital markets, structured finance, and corporate and investment banking, under the supervision of a Lead Auditor. The role involves conducting independent testing and analysis of specific controls to meet audit objectives, contributing to drafting debriefing presentations, and preparing final reports for management.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Audit Associate is expected to work independently with minimal supervision, challenge the control environment effectively, and manage time efficiently to meet all deadlines and keep the audit plan on schedule.
Management and ReportingReports directly to the Lead Auditor or Supervisor responsible for Markets and Operations coverage. During assignments, may also report to a global supervisor overseeing the engagement.
Key Internal ContactsAuditees include Trading Desks, Operations, Structured Finance, Corporate and Investment Banking, and Compliance Monitoring, as well as other control functions.
Key External ContactsThe Audit Associate may coordinate with co-source resources during engagements.
Role-Specific RequirementsThis role may require business travel to relevant locations for periods of up to several consecutive weeks. Auditors must adhere to the CACIB Audit Charter, especially the five fundamental ethical principles: integrity, objectivity, confidentiality, expertise, and transparency, along with all applicable local regulations.
Salary Range$100K - $130K
I – Conduct of AssignmentThe Audit Associate is responsible for executing audit tasks assigned by the Lead Auditor within specified time frames, following IGE methodology and internal audit standards. This includes continuous monitoring, formal audit coverage, and regulatory issue validation testing when applicable.
- Conduct audit planning and fieldwork independently, including preliminary risk and control assessments.
- Perform interviews, testing, and analysis of control results as per the audit program.
- Document all testing and conclusions thoroughly in test sheets.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses, analyze root causes and risks, develop remediation recommendations, and evaluate the control effectiveness.
- Maintain open communication with auditees to prevent misunderstandings, document issues, and identify owners.
- Present audit findings to IGE management and the audited units’ management.
