Position Overview
Join JPMorgan Chase as a Valuation Control - Associate! The Valuation Control Group (VCG) is organized along business lines including Commercial & Investment Banking (Macro Products, Credit, Equities, Securitized Products, IB Risk), CIO, Treasury & Corporate (CTC), Asset Management and Consumer & Community Banking (CCB). Clients of the group include senior management, business heads, regulators, and both internal and external audit.
As a Valuation Control - Associate within the SPG team, you will be responsible for assessing the fair value of various securities, loans and long‑term debts in the Securitized Products Group. You will also focus on insightful analysis leveraging multiple market data sources through advanced analytics platforms.
Job Responsibilities- Assist with the development of valuation framework reviews and monitor market relevant indicators to calibrate pricing parameters.
- Apply fair value concept to comply with Financial Accounting Standards Board guidance on Fair Value Hierarchy disclosure.
- Enhance existing control framework by reviewing independent pricing processes, assessing potential coverage developments and implementing new tools to improve control efficiency.
- Act in a challenge capacity to ensure proper vetting of price valuation takes place.
- Partner with various functional groups on valuation‑related issues and develop/implement appropriate measures to ensure fair value.
- Partner with stakeholders on valuation‑related initiatives, regulatory exams and internal and external audit inquiries.
- Assist with management reporting of valuation results or other similar responsibilities.
- 2+ years of experience in fixed‑income valuation related to, but not limited to, mortgage and securitized products.
- Attention to detail and ability to communicate to senior stakeholders in a succinct and clear fashion.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform within a high‑pressure and time‑sensitive environment.
- Capacity to understand complex concepts and effectively challenge peers in other groups across the organization.
- Undergraduate degree with finance, accounting, or economics major preferred.
- Knowledge of programming (e.g., Python), analytics platform (e.g., Alteryx) and data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau) a plus.
