job summary:
We are partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing company that is well recognized in the retail industry and is seeking to hire an Accounting Manager. This role will oversee and direct the day-to-day accounting operations and lead the department's financial activities. The ideal candidate will have prior supervisory experience and a strong background in closing the books within a small team setting.
Key responsibilities include executing the monthly close, establishing and maintaining internal controls, coordinating the close process across four locations, and ensuring all financial activities are conducted with accuracy. CPA is highly preferred and the role requires 5 days on site.

Experience:

- Coordinates and executes monthly close process for 4 locations.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversees the production of financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Presentations of recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
- Eight years or more of related experience required.
- Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
