Job Overview
The staff accountant maintains accurate financial records, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and contributes to the success of our financial operations.
Base Pay Range$70,000 / year - $90,000 / year
Job Responsibilities- Record and maintain general ledger entries with a high level of accuracy.
- Perform regular daily reconciliations of internal bank accounts and correspondent bank accounts.
- Contribute to the month‑end closing process by preparing journal entries and reconciling various accounts.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for regulatory authorities.
- Prepare documentation and support auditors during internal and external audits.
- Address audit findings and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Generate financial statements and reports for management review.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather relevant financial information and support their financial needs.
- Participate in financial planning and budgeting processes.
- Identify and assess financial risks, proposing strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Monitor and report on key financial metrics to identify emerging risks.
- Perform special projects and additional duties as required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in accounting, or similar; OR associate degree and two (2) years of experience in functional area; OR high school diploma (or equivalent) plus four (4) years of experience.

Job Requirements:
- Demonstrated skills and experience with accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 365 and accounting software.
- Prior experience with loan accounting preferred.
- Willingness to pursue continuing education, certifications, etc. as applicable to advancing in the organization.
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to speak confidently.
- An ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment where priorities change daily and employees wear many hats.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to think "outside the box" and prioritize tasks and decisions in a timely manner.
