Tasks

& Responsibilities Accounting Functions
  • Manage accounting for Hall Rental operations
  • Review entries for Hall Rental revenue (including cash payments) and Hall Rental invoices
  • Reconcile accounts receivable
  • Analyze and resolve hall rental aged receivables
  • Manage accounting for Ticketing revenue and receipts
  • Review entries for Ticketing revenue (including cash payments)
  • Review Ticketing cash reconciliations
  • Review the reconciliations between general ledger and sub ledger
  • Oversee the reconciliation of Fixed Assets between general ledger and Fixed Assets module
  • Responsible for overseeing the reconciliation process for all Balance Sheet accounts
  • Coordinate year end annual financial audit and pension audit
  • Coordinate and review state charitable registration filings
  • Review monthly budget vs actual reports
  • Assist in the monthly and yearly closing
  • Oversee, monitor and work to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and database management
  • Assist in the implementation of FASB changes
  • Manage two Finance staff
  • Other Projects as needed
  • Train staff on proper procedures
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls
  • Coordinate the annual audit as well as other related audits
  • Trains staff on proper procedures
Reporting
  • With input from the Controller, assist with the annual preparation of the IRS 990 report, annual financial statements and pension financial statements
  • Responsible for 1099 and 1042 reporting
  • Prepare annual escheatment reporting
  • Coordinate the insurance renewal process including updating applications and processing of payments
  • Special Projects as requested
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Professional Certification (CPA) preferred
  • Min. 4 years progressive managerial experience in the financial management of an organization
  • Exposure and experience in non‑profit finance desirable
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and diplomatic skills: the ability to effectively liaise with colleagues
  • Strong Computer skills: facility with MS Office especially Excel and PowerPoint required, knowledge of MIP accounting system desirable
