Tax Manager - Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) - Central and East locations

Join EY as a Tax Manager within the Accounting Compliance & Reporting (ACR) practice, working across Central and East U.S. locations including Chicago, New York City, Hoboken, Iselin, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, and Washington.

Our ACR practice focuses on helping clients manage global bookkeeping and finance compliance obligations in 150+ countries. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring statutory financial statements are accurate, complete, and ready for filing, while driving process improvements and risk mitigation.

• Apply technical accounting knowledge to analyze account balances, reconciliations, and other financial matters during monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Follow up on deliverable status, investigate blockers, and collaborate with colleagues to resolve issues and prevent late filing or compliance risks.
• Execute improvement projects that enhance quality, visibility, and efficiency—e.g., analyzing manual journal entries for potential automation or threshold adjustments.
• Use judgment to resolve accounting or process issues, escalating to management as necessary to maintain service delivery standards.

• Deliver clear, data‑driven presentations for internal leaders and clients.
• Interpret statutory reporting and accounting matters to develop solutions and advise supervisors.
• Escalate issues to management to keep projects on time and on quality.
• Manage a small team and ensure work stays on budget.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major (or equivalent experience).
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting or tax experience.
• CPA license, approved technical certification, or membership to a state Bar (or progress toward attainment).
• Knowledge of global statutory reporting and/or bookkeeping, preferably across multiple countries.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; keen attention to detail.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and familiarity with related IT concepts.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks.
• Willingness to travel 20‑30% to client locations.
