Location: New York
Overview
A high‑profile, global multi‑strategy hedge fund is looking to hire a Chief Operating Officer (COO) for its rapidly expanding U.S. business.
The COO will be based in New York and will lead the growth of the U.S. office at the most senior level, build non‑investment teams, and play a key role in launching new strategies, products, and desks.
In addition, the COO will serve as the primary escalation point for U.S. portfolio managers, support senior management with U.S. build‑out and strategy, and drive broader strategic objectives such as technology advancements. The role focuses on improving collaboration and visibility between global investment strategies and U.S. portfolio‑manager teams.
Responsibilities- Oversee continued expansion of the U.S. office at the senior level.
- Buildout non‑investment teams at a larger scale.
- Lead the launch of new strategies, products, and desks.
- Act as the main sounding board for U.S. portfolio managers and first point of escalation for strategy challenges.
- Lead implementation of broader strategic objectives, including technology advancements.
- Improve collaboration and visibility between global portfolio managers and the firm’s global support functions.
- Experience as a COO at a hedge fund or as a global business manager at a multi‑strategy firm.
- Previous experience as an ex‑trader or portfolio manager moving into senior business roles.
- Strong background in multi‑asset derivatives is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage deployment of non‑investment teams and launch new strategies.
