DEADLINEThis position is eligible for teleworking , which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective hire date.

PositionObjective
The purpose o f this position is to perform collection efforts to meet departmental goals regarding outstanding aged receivables. It is expected that the position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely collection of all receivables.
Responsibilities- Monitor aging reports and collect payment on all aged and outstanding receivables .
- Maintain Dishonored check system, including weekly reports, demand letters and collection agency follow-up.
- Research and resolve short-paid invoices. Follow-up with Project Management Teams on advance requests, application of deposits, and refund requests.
- Establish A/R reserves and write off recommendations.
- Maintain, compile, and report information to management. Account Analysis for Allowance for Doubtful accounts and Bad Debt Expense.
- Maintain good customer relations.
- Collections and Customer Inquiry management. Review, substantiate and gather all supporting documents for discussion with Senior Management as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Proficiency in and/or ability to learn to work with all internal levels within a given organization.
- Proficiency in and/or ability to learn communicate and interact well with external agencies.
- Demonstrated proficiency in or ability to learn the Microsoft Office Suite or comparable applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business , Accounting or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited college may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years related experience.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Attainment of or in the process of attaining specific functional licenses or certifications in area of specialty if applicable.
- Attainment of or in the process of attaining P.E. license from New York State.
- Familiarity with the MTA’s policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with the MTA’s collective bargaining procedures.
