Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be part of the Sponsored Projects Finance Cash Team supporting the Letter of Credit (LOC) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: New York, New York
Pay Range: $40.00/hour - $45/hour
What's the Job?- Manage the cash recovery process for approximately 2,300 federal awards, ensuring the collection of approximately $1 billion annually.
- Calculate cash drawdowns for federal awards based on expenditure analysis in compliance with federal regulations and university policies.
- Prepare supporting documentation for posting cash receipts to appropriate projects and reconcile payments and accounts receivable balances.
- Prepare quarterly financial reports as required by federal agencies and reconcile financial data between the university and federal agencies.
- Compile documentation for financial statements and audits, and assist with various special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting, with a minimum of three years' relevant experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with databases and computerized financial systems.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments in a high-pressure, short-deadline environment with excellent accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with a collaborative approach to teamwork.
