Vice President – Private Equity Operations
Location: New York, Charlotte, or Chicago (Hybrid)
A leading private capital asset manager is looking to hire a Vice President within its Investment Operations function. This role supports private equity fund investments and equity co-investments across a growing institutional platform and will play a key role in strengthening operational infrastructure as the business scales.
Responsibilities- Oversee the execution and monitoring of private equity capital activity, including funding obligations, distributions and cash movements
- Maintain accurate investment records within the firm’s core systems and ensure timely reconciliation of cash flows
- Act as an operational point of expertise for private equity investments, working closely with internal teams and external vendors
- Proactively identify control gaps, data issues and process inefficiencies, and drive improvements
- Own the resolution of complex data breaks and operational exceptions
- Lead the onboarding, training and day-to-day development of junior operations staff
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of recurring management, investor and regulatory reporting
- Chair regular service provider meetings to review data accuracy, workflows and outstanding issues
- Support and lead operational projects linked to new initiatives, system enhancements and platform growth
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record
- 5+ years of experience in private equity operations within an asset manager, family office, endowment, fund of funds or service provider
- Experience managing or mentoring team members
- Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, legal documentation and operational workflows
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with private equity investment systems
- Exposure to platforms such as eFront, Order Management or Treasury systems is beneficial
- Clear and confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Self-motivated, accountable and able to take ownership end-to-end
