Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Corporate Controller, the Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day‑to‑day accounting for corporate entities and certain other excluded assets managed by the company, as needed. The Sr. Corporate Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, and other related financial activities. As a key contributor to the team, the role supports ESRT’s financial reporting and operational excellence and leads key accounting functions, including general ledger management, month‑end/quarter‑end close activities, account reconciliations, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.

This role ensures accurate and timely financial information, partners closely with cross‑functional teams, and contributes to continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, analytical, and proactive, with the ability to operate independently while supporting ESRT’s high standards of accuracy, accountability, and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Process monthly journal entries, including corporate allocations and accruals, and maintain the integrity of the general ledger
  • Perform monthly/quarterly budget vs actual and month‑over‑month variance analytics, monitor expenses, and provide financial insights to support decision‑making by management
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations and other supporting schedules in accordance with SOX requirements
  • Collaborate with Financial Reporting and Accounting Policy team to record journal entries related to significant non‑routine transactions
  • Review and record monthly corporate credit card expenses
  • Review entries and work papers for accuracy and appropriate documentation, and investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with annual budget and quarterly reforecast process, through data entry, analysis, and recommendations
  • Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries to support quarterly and annual audit requests
