Join to apply for the Senior Associate, Financial Operations role at Flex

Flex is a growth‑stage, NYC headquartered Fin Tech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense.

After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?

About the Role

The Treasury team develops and implements strategies to efficiently operate our business, which pays over $1 billion in customer rents each month—one of Flex’s most critical functions. As part of this team, this role offers an opportunity to learn Finance, Treasury, and Risk principles. The ideal candidate will have a wide understanding of cash operations, reconciliations and treasury controls used by specialty finance companies.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will be extremely detail oriented and have strong interpersonal skills.

This is a hybrid position with on‑site expectations of 3 days per week in our New York Headquarters. For candidates outside of the NY/NJ area, you may be eligible for our relocation assistance program.

What You’ll Do
  • Own day‑to‑day cash operations, including:
    • Processing borrower collections
    • Supporting the purchase and sale of receivables
    • Preparing and maintaining reconciliations of funds movement
  • Assist in developing and implementing new product and credit facility fund flows, ensuring accuracy and operational readiness.
  • Help maintain a strong cash controls environment by performing routine checks, documenting processes, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor daily liquidity needs and prepare cash movement recommendations to support business operations and maximize interest income.
  • Support banking relationship management by coordinating account administration, gathering documentation, and assisting with service requests.
  • Collaborate with Capital Markets, Product, Servicing, Risk, and other teams to ensure smooth execution of Treasury‑related activities and continuous operational improvement.
  • Develop clear business requirements and effectively partner with Product and Engineering teams on cross‑functional initiatives.
Key Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience at a financial institution with a complex Treasury operation.
  • Broad understanding of treasury operations, cash controls, reconciliation reporting and capital markets.
  • Familiarity with consumer credit, interest rate (accrual) based financial products and services.
  • Experience creating product and system functionality spec requirements in an Agile/Scrum construct using the Atlassian toolset (Jira/Confluence).
  • Fin Tech project management or transformation project management experience.
  • Strong experience with Excel; SQL and Tableau are a plus.
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent work experience; MBA or CFA is a plus.

Compensation:
For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $111,000 – $125,000. The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
