Assistant Director of Finance

Work Shifts
9:00 A.M – 5:00 P.M 35 hours a week. Monday through Friday.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Director of Finance will play a critical role in advancing the hospital's financial strategies related to Value-Based Purchasing (VBP). This position focuses on analyzing, tracking, and optimizing financial performance through data-driven insights, ensuring compliance with healthcare reimbursement models, and supporting initiatives that align financial goals with quality patient care. Develop financial models and analyses to assess the hospital's performance under VBP programs.
Monitor financial trends and key VBP metrics to improve reimbursement strategies while maximizing revenue integrity. Provide financial insights to hospital leadership on the impact of VBP adjustments on budgeting, forecasting, and operational expenditures. Work closely with reimbursement teams to ensure compliance with VBP policies, CMS regulations, and payer-specific financial requirements. Oversee financial reporting related to quality measures, ensuring accuracy in claims submissions and reimbursement calculations.
Collaborate with clinical teams to align financial incentives with quality improvement initiatives. Conduct data-driven evaluations of financial performance under VBP contracts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Work alongside IT and finance teams to enhance reporting tools for better tracking of patient outcome-based incentives and penalties. Use financial analytics to support hospital leadership in optimizing cost structures and improving quality-based reimbursements.
Partner with department heads, clinicians, and finance teams to integrate cost-effective strategies aligned with hospital-wide goals. Lead training sessions for finance staff and operational managers on VBP financial impacts, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Performs other related duties, as directed.
1.Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related discipline with an emphasis on accounting and financial systems; and two (2) years of responsible-level experience in fiscal management or administration with an emphasis on financial systems, management information and controls, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity;
or 2.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in "1" above; and three(3) years of experience, as described in "1" above, one (1) year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or managerial capacity.
Departmental Preference:
Proficiency in financial analytics Experience with VBP metrics, reimbursement models, or hospital finance. Excellent ability to present financial reports to leadership and engage cross-functional teams. Min 2 years' experience in working healthcare Min 2 years' experience in handling health plan's qualities such as HEDIS/QARR
