The Investment Counsellor Team Lead manages multiple teams of senior professionals located in Luxembourg, France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The role requires a broad and comprehensive understanding of the systems, theories and practices relevant to the function, plus practical experience across multiple business cycles. In-depth knowledge of the industry and direct competitors' products/services is necessary to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business.

Requires a thorough understanding of the strategic direction of the function within the business, with solid conceptual and practical grounding in the function and area of expertise. Excellent communication skills are required to influence a wide range of audiences. The role may involve internal and external negotiations with potential impact on the area managed and related areas of the organization.

Develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies for a large/complex country, cluster of countries, or business requiring coordination and integration across units. Provides input into strategic decisions affecting the job family or function within a region or business. Holds full management responsibility of multiple teams, including people, budget and planning, with authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues with significant impact on revenues, capital, or operations.

Typically reports to a C16/Managing Director and sits on the highest functional leadership team within a region, function, or global business.

• Responsible for the effective coordination, management and delivery of all aspects of the CPB Investments Business within the region, including CIM and Capital Markets, as well as core functions noted herein. Manage direct and matrix reports across the Investments business to ensure the business meets financial targets and adheres to internal and external standards and practices.
• Develop and execute the region’s broader business strategy, including client segmentation and coverage, product positioning and development, platform and process enhancements, content delivery, regulatory compliance, risk and control, revenue and expense management. Coordinate these functions with the Market Executive and the Global Head of Investment Solutions, among others.
• Engage with clients to solicit feedback on CPB’s Investments business, drive platform and product initiatives, and maintain Citi’s position as a trusted adviser to target market clients. Represent the Investments business to clients in the region.
• Lead a large team of investment professionals, including Investment Counsellors and Product Specialists. Collaborate with the senior leadership team for Investments Solutions, regional management, Market Executives, Team Leaders, Private Bankers and other partners to build strong client relationships and deliver Citi's platform. Recruit, develop, promote and retain talent across the Europe investments organization.
• Engage with Citi Markets, Wealth Markets, CIM and Alts to provide exceptional investment offerings to CPB clients.
• Deliver continued revenue growth by managing the cost-to-income ratio, proactively managing expenses, and consolidating the business across the region, creating operational efficiencies and achieving financial targets.
