** Role

Purpose:

** The Vice President, Leveraged Finance Credit Risk, will be responsible for the independent analysis, underwriting, and ongoing monitoring of credit risk associated with new and existing leveraged finance transactions. A primary focus will be on evaluating deals involving private equity sponsors, ensuring that all credit exposures align with the firm's established risk appetite and credit policies. This role requires a thorough understanding of corporate finance, capital structures, and the specific dynamics of private equity-backed credits.

* Core Responsibilities:

*** Lead comprehensive credit analysis and underwriting for new leveraged finance transactions, including detailed due diligence on target companies, industry sectors, and transaction structures.
* Evaluate the creditworthiness of private equity-backed entities by conducting in-depth financial modeling, cash flow analysis, and covenant reviews.
* Prepare and present well-reasoned credit approval memoranda and recommendations to senior management and credit committees, clearly articulating risks, mitigants, and proposed terms.
* Manage and monitor a portfolio of existing leveraged loan exposures, proactively identifying and assessing potential credit deterioration, covenant compliance, and portfolio trends.
* Collaborate closely with investment banking, private equity investment teams, and legal counsel to structure transactions effectively and ensure adherence to credit parameters.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and refinement of credit policies, risk rating methodologies, and portfolio management tools.
* Participate in ad-hoc projects related to stress testing, regulatory reporting, and internal portfolio reviews.
* Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts within the credit risk function.
