Tax Preparer

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Preparer to join their Manhattan, NY office.

• Complete and examine federal, state, and local income tax returns for UHNW individuals (Form 1040) and related entities, including partnerships (Form 1065) and S-corporations (Form 1120-S)
• Focus on drafting complex fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) for grantor, complex, and charitable trusts and estates
• Compile federal and state gift tax returns (Form 709) and contribute to the preparation of estate tax returns (Form 706)
• Administer compliance for foreign accounts and assets, including FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) and FATCA (Form 8938) reporting
• Evaluate intricate financial records, including investment statements, K-1s, and real estate transactions, to ensure accurate tax treatment
• Act as the primary client contact, delivering timely, clear, and professional communication
• Coordinate with external advisors such as attorneys and investment managers to implement integrated tax strategies
• Resolve client tax matters with authorities, including responses to notices and audit support
• Investigate complex trust, gift, and estate tax issues through technical research and analysis
• Identify proactive planning opportunities, including charitable giving, wealth transfer, and tax-efficient investment strategies while staying current on evolving tax law

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• 4+ years of experience preparing taxes for UHNW individuals
• Experience with trust, gift, and estate tax return preparation and compliance
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly analytical
• CPA
