ACS OLR Hearing Officer
NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS)
Salary: $62,868 - $72,298 annually.
OverviewACS protects and promotes the safety and well‑being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services. The Office of Labor Relations (OLR) provides legal representation, advises on labor matters, and resolves Step II and Step III grievances.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and assess client and employee inquiries and complaints, ensuring employee rights are addressed.
- Draft letters, memos, and recommendations for Step II and Step III hearings.
- Represent ACS Labor Relations at meetings, hearings, arbitration hearings, and collective bargaining negotiations.
- Investigate and respond to inquiries on labor issues, including health and safety.
- Provide advisory assistance to program directors, administrators, and others on collective bargaining agreements and agency policies.
- Assist in preparing for and conducting hearings and providing written responses to grievances.
- Bachelor’s degree with two years of community work experience related to the duties, or
- High school diploma with six years of community work experience, or
- Equivalent education and experience, with at least one year in related duties.
