Position: VP, Government Affairs & Communications - 2045
Location: New York

A mission-driven human services organization is seeking a VP of Government Affairs & Communications to lead legislative advocacy and organizational communications. This senior leadership role advances advocacy priorities at the local, state, and federal levels while overseeing internal and external communications strategy.

Responsibilities

• Developing and executing an annual legislative and advocacy strategy

• Tracking policy, regulatory, and budget developments impacting services

• Advising executive leadership on policy implications and actions

• Building relationships with elected officials, advocacy groups, and partners

• Coordinating legislative meetings, site visits, and advocacy events

• Representing the organization with government agencies and legislators

• Leading internal and external communications strategy

• Serving as steward of brand, messaging, and organizational voice

• Overseeing employee, member, and provider newsletters

• Managing digital communications and social media channels

Ideal Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in government affairs or advocacy

• Strong understanding of public policy and regulatory environments

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• Experience managing organizational messaging and branding

• Ability to lead strategy across multiple stakeholders

Salary: $130k - $150k/Year
