Training & Competency Advisor

Overview

NSB Omega is searching for a Training & Competency Advisor for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in St. John's.

Assignment Description

• Work directly with and support the East Coast EH&S and Regulatory Team and the Drilling, Completions and Interventions Team to develop a training and competency program that would be applicable to the following groups:
• the Client and Embedded Contractors
• Drilling Contractor
• 3rd Party Service Contractors
• Prepare a Training and Competency Procedure in support of the Operations Authorization application
• Develop an East Coast training matrix for the Client s employees and Embedded Contractors
• Conduct a training and competency compliance assessment against the following requirements:
• Atlantic Canada Offshore Petroleum Industry: Standard Practice for the Training and Qualifications of Personnel (Standard Practice)
• the Client s Competency Management System
• 3rd Party Contractors Competency Management System
• Develop a gap analysis and closure plan for any expired or missing training and competency requirements for the Client s employees and Embedded Contractors
• Review and provide feedback to Rig Contractor and 3rd Party Service Contractors on their training and competency compliance reports and gap closure plans
• Provide regular training and competency compliance reports (frequency to be determined but at least monthly)
• Responsible for all requirements associated with the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Energy Regulator training and compliance assessment
• Develop and deliver the Client s training material to vendors and internal personnel as required
