Help Drive Policy Change and End Family Homelessness

THE ROLEWin's Public Policy & Strategy Department is seeking a Policy Analyst to support the organization's policy, research, and advocacy initiatives. This role will help advance evidence-based policy solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and housing instability. The Policy Analyst will contribute to advocacy campaigns, policy research, public education efforts, and coalition-building activities that shape public policy impacting vulnerable New York City families.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team committed to creating systemic change and improving outcomes for children and families experiencing homelessness.
What You Will Do- Develop and implement advocacy campaigns focused on ending family homelessness, while engaging residents and staff to identify emerging issues and policy solutions.
- Draft and contribute to policy briefs, testimony, reports, presentations, and other advocacy materials.
- Conduct literature reviews and qualitative analyses to ensure policy recommendations are evidence-based and data-informed.
- Partner with the Research, Evaluation, and Strategic Learning team to analyze and apply organizational data to advocacy initiatives.
- Monitor legislative, policy, and political developments, and provide timely analysis and recommendations.
- Represent Win in advocacy coalitions, stakeholder meetings, and external forums.
- Coordinate with policymakers, government agencies, and community partners to advance policy priorities.
- Provide analytical and project management support for strategic initiatives and special projects.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in public policy, Political Science, Social Work, Sociology, Urban Studies, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Possess knowledge of policy issues impacting individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex policy concepts into clear, concise language.
- Exhibit exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate the ability to conduct research, analyze information, and synthesize findings into actionable insights.
