Location: New York
Housing and Community Renewal Specialist Trainee 1 provides customer service and technical assistance to owners, tenants, and representatives regarding rent stabilization, rent control, and affordable housing programs in New York City and beyond. The role involves responding to inquiries in person, via phone, email, and video conference; processing records access requests; assisting with registration forms; and representing the agency at public forums.
This is a permanent full-time position with the NY HELPS program at Homes and Community Renewal, located in Brooklyn.
- Four years of experience analyzing housing policy data, providing guidance to the public, or monitoring housing projects
- Associate degree may substitute for two years of experience; bachelor's degree for four years; master's degree for five years
- Current resume required; proof of degree required if substituting education for experience
- Must clearly demonstrate in resume how you meet minimum qualifications
- For 55B/C applicants: must meet open competitive minimum qualifications and submit 55B/C letter
