The EVS Technician assists residents by maintaining the cleanliness of the Manor at Seneca Hills, including resident areas and common areas.
Responsibilities- Perform day to day cleaning including dust-mopping, mopping, wet-mopping, washing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, spot cleaning, scrubbing of showers and bathrooms, sanitizing and emptying trash of floors, equipment, walls, ceilings, and windows.
- Select cleaning materials and supplies. Prepare solutions to meet the needs of the cleaning tasks; load and transport service cart to work area. Return unused supplies to proper area.
- Clean assigned areas including high dust vents, cabinets, furnishings, floors and equipment, walls, ceilings, and inside windows with cleaning solutions per policy.
- Complete all assignments in a timely manner; work on ongoing projects as assigned; assist others as requested; adapt to changes in the work load as needed.
- Rearrange furniture and equipment after cleaning the area.
- Replenish supplies as needed: paper towels, toilet tissue, soap and other as needed: request cleaning supplies and equipment as needed; maintain clean, orderly, stocked utility carts.
- Collect waste from areas as assigned; sanitize all trash containers.
- Maintain clean and orderly equipment storage after usage; assure that all equipment is safe and in proper working order, notify supervisor of any concerns.
- Ensure proper disposal of hazardous/infectious waste according to company policy.
- Notify maintenance of any safety hazards or repairs needed.
- Maintain considerate, helpful attitude towards resident’s visitors and other staff.
- Practice infection control principles in cleaning methods and personal hygiene; practice safe use of equipment, chemicals, tools, and utensils.
- Comply with state and federal safety health regulations. Establish and maintain constructive working relationships and communication with co-workers, residents, volunteers, and families.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Reading, writing and comprehension at a 6th grade level or better.
- Experience or interest in working with older adults.
- Prolonged periods standing and walking and frequently pulling, pushing, and bending.
- Occasionally requires assembling, using and maintaining all departmental equipment.
- Ability to bend or kneel for up to 15 consecutive minutes to perform cleaning tasks.
- Ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment.
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to work 3-3.75 hours standing, walking, moving about without needing to sit down.
- Follow principles of infection control and standard precautions while performing job functions; reference MSDS.
- Actively participates in Quality Assurance programs and CQI, in-service programs, cross-training; accept assignments to other units/shifts as facility needs require; attend all mandatory classes as required; complete unit-specific competencies.
- Participate in policy and procedure revisions as needed; review departmental policies and procedures at least annually.
- Comply with DOH requirements for annual health assessments and required immunizations.
$16.17-$19.40/hr
Employee salary is based on commensurate experience and other qualifications.
