Position SummaryPerform high‑quality, basic life support emergency medical care, transport patients through the Nassau County System, conduct patient assessments, accurately document patient information on e‑PCR, and comply with all NYS DOH BEMS and Nassau County guidelines.
Job Responsibilities- Perform clinically appropriate patient assessments and treat patients in accordance with NYS DOH BEMS and Nassau County guidelines, safely transporting them to the most appropriate hospital and communicating condition and treatment rendered to hospital staff.
- Accurately complete Electronic Pre‑hospital Call Report (e‑PCR) for every patient contact, including insurance information and all required signatures; complete e‑PCR for every call, whether patient contact was made or not.
- Complete NYS DOH BEMS Check Out Sheet, record deficiencies with corrective actions, and submit all forms at end of tour.
- Maintain vehicle and equipment, restock supplies, keep the vehicle clean and sanitized, and ensure it is fueled at all times in accordance to NYS DOH BEMS Part 800 compliance.
- Comply with uniform policy, maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance, wear appropriate identification and all required personal equipment.
- Monitor radio, promptly respond to assignments, maintain professional radio decorum, and comply with local radio protocol guidelines.
- Adhere to regional, NYS DOH BEMS and NYU Langone Hospitals EMS policies, check vehicle and equipment at beginning of each shift, and ensure the unit remains ready for dispatch.
- Provide high‑quality patient care on‑scene and en‑route, cooperate with partners and other providers, and maintain professional relationships to facilitate care delivery.
- Assist Advanced Life Support paramedics with duties within EMT scope, including blood glucose sampling, EKG monitor placement, and vital sign acquisition.
- Participate in Department, Hospital and Regional Quality Improvement Programs; attend department meetings and training sessions.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Completion of NYS DOH BEMS Approved Emergency Medical Technician Program required.
- Completion of CEVO III or CEVO IV or EVOC Course required.
- Current and valid NYS Driver License required.
- NYS DOH BEMS EMT Certification required.
- Weapons of Mass Destruction Certificate required.
- HAZMAT Awareness Certificate required.
- Hazardous Materials Certificate
- Weapons Mass Destruction Certificate
- EMT Certificate
- Driver's License
- FEMA I.S. 100, 200, 700, 800 preferred.

Benefits and CompensationNYU Langone Health offers a salary range of $35.00‑$35.00 per hour. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
