SUNY Upstate is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Child Life Specialist to be part of Upstate's Pediatric Child Life Team working to support the Pediatric patients and families in the Evening hours.

• Provide developmental and psychosocial support for pediatric patients and families.
• Assess children's developmental and coping needs.
• Provide preparation, age appropriate diversion and motional support to minimize distress associated with hospitalization and/or medical encounters.
• Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary health care team.

• Bachelor's degree in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology or related field.
• Must have completed a Child Life Internship under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
• Current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required or ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.

• Master's Degree preferred.

Evenings-Monday - Friday, with one weekend a month
