In-Home Mental Health Support Specialist
We are seeking an in‑home mental health provider to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals beginning or continuing their careers in mental health who want hands‑on experience providing direct support to youth and families. Under the guidance of mental health professionals, you will implement treatment goals, teach coping strategies, and reinforce positive behaviors in real‑world settings.
Because our work involves supporting youth with mental health challenges, Lodestar requires team members who can dedicate at least one year to the role. This commitment helps us provide the steady, trusting relationships essential to our clients’ growth and healing.
Qualifications- Empathetic and passionate about mental health.
- Strong communicators and problem‑solvers.
- Collaborative team players who bring positivity and flexibility.
- Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress).
- Experience in Human Services, Childcare, or Education (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance; for Brooklyn/Queens providers, reliable vehicle is not mandatory if public transportation is available.
- Ability to pass all required background checks (fingerprinting and NYS Child Abuse Registry clearance).
Part‑time/Per‑diem position. Hours vary based on client needs. As most clients are school‑aged, most shifts are between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm. Flexible scheduling is perfect for students or those with other jobs. Weekend availability is a plus but not required.
CompensationPay is calculated on a per‑diem model. Starting pay: $24.$27.50 per service hour during a two‑month probationary period. Post‑probation pay: $28.50–$32.00 per service hour based on performance. Applicants with a Master’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, or Counseling and at least one year of relevant experience may be eligible for $46.00 per service hour after completing the probationary period.
