Description
- Screens and evaluates the communication and feeding/swallowing skills of preschoolers as per ASHA guidelines during intake evaluations and screenings, and annual review evaluations and updates.
- Develops and implements therapy programs based upon the child’s individual needs, in accordance with the school philosophy, utilizing state‑of‑the‑art techniques.
- Participates in all aspects of the interdisciplinary treatment team, including formal and informal meetings, consultations, and submits clinical documentation: evaluation and screening reports, daily log notes, monthly or bi‑monthly notes, and IEP documentation.
- Participates in department, supervisory, staff, team, and module meetings as specified by the facility.
- Functions as a child advocate as an internal representative and for outside meetings.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of classroom programs, such as language lessons and group communication programs.
- Maintains effective interpersonal relationships with team members, other staff, supervisors, administrative staff, parents, and outside agencies, demonstrating: open communication, self‑evaluation, utilization of supervision, flexibility, and the ability to offer and accept assistance.

- Master’s Degree
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
- Licensure/Certification in Speech Pathology.
- NYS Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification (TSHH/TSSLD).
